Hello, I’m Renee Debono.

I’m a lawyer, conveyancing and property enthusiast, accredited mediator and am wildly passionate about helping others. I’m also the founder of The Law Collective.

Outside of being a lawyer, you’ll find me trying a new restaurant, booking a holiday (usually to somewhere warmer than my home town in Ballarat) or in my veggie garden. Outside of work, I love all the special roles I have as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, fur-mum and friend.

I work predominantly in the areas of conveyancing, commercial and residential property law and wills.

Over the years, I have loved supporting hundreds (maybe thousands!) of people to make informed decisions about their future. During this time I have taken great joy in building my professional network in Ballarat, and beyond. I pride myself on taking a holistic approach when working alongside you, and your business and will always take the time to understand your future ambitions to allow me to give you the best possible advice.

The Law Collective was born out of a desire to combine my two great loves (outside of my husband and my pug of course!) - helping others & the law but in a way that feels empathetic and personal.

My biggest hope for The Law Collective is that it becomes a place where our clients turn into friends and trust in us for honest, expert and human-centric advice.

Hello, I’m Eliza Thompson.

I am a Senior Conveyancer and the Office Manager at The Law Collective and I’m beyond excited to work with and get to know you and your business!

I’ve been working in the legal industry as a Conveyancer for the past 11 years and have gained important knowledge and experience for all things property over that time.

I have been privileged to work with an array of clients over the years and really value the trusting relationships that I have built. I specialize in property developments and conveyancing and have assisted in transacting substantial settlements within the Ballarat, Melbourne, Ararat and Mildura regions.

I am highly experienced in handling subdivisions, developments, and drafting contracts, that can include conditions that cater for more complex property matters. I pride myself, and work closely with my clients to ensure that their interests are protected throughout the process.

I’m a mum of two children and my family alongside work, are my proudest and greatest achievements.

Hi, I’m Abbey Perkins.

I’m the Receptionist and Operations Manager at The Law Collective. Often described as “the organised one,” I thrive on a good to-do list and genuinely enjoy building meaningful connections—both professionally and personally.

With over 10 years of experience in administration, customer service, and operations, I’ve worked across a variety of industries within the Ballarat community. This diverse background has given me a strong foundation in delivering efficient support and exceptional service. One of my favourite quotes is from Shep Hyken: “Make every interaction count, even the small ones. They are all relevant.” That’s the mindset I bring to my work each day.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me walking my fur-baby Winston, spending time with family and friends, or planning my next travel adventure.

I’m thrilled to be joining Renee and the team at The Law Collective, and I am enjoying using my skills in the legal industry and have loved meeting all of our wonderful clients.

Hi, I’m Adelle Gleeson.

I take a personal and thoughtful approach to my work, and I really value the opportunity to support clients through what can often be sensitive or emotional decisions.

For me, the most rewarding part of the job is building genuine relationships with clients and helping to make the process feel clear, respectful and approachable.
